Ideally, this position will be filled by a candidate who has experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle right from design, implementation, maintenance, testing, documentation and delivery. As part of the core software development activities you will be a key contributor in the development team activities including hands-on object- oriented design, programming, and quality testing of the whole product. It involves not only understanding state of the art software development tools on Windows and UNIX platforms, but also working with the extended team to design high-level architectures and create execution plans.
Contribute in the following areas:
- Participate in the Agile software development lifecycle
- Translate design requirements and specifications into robust implementations
- Perform implementations to specification in a timely fashion
- Perform quality assurance tasks, such as black box testing, integration tests, unit tests, and installation tests on a specific software platform.
- Design and implement effective user interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use
- Participate in the design and planning process
- Typically takes work direction from a Lead.
- Communicate effort estimates to the Lead.
- Solicit code reviews for your work and participate in code reviews of others’ work
- Resolve assigned defects and continually reduce defect backlog

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have strong software design and development experience as well as knowledge of development best practices. A BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering field.
Programming –
• Programming languages – Perl & PHP required
• Web Technologies – HTML, HTTP, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, XML
• Strong Database Experience – MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL
• Ability to write complex SQL queries.
• OS – Familiarity with Unix, Shell scripts, and Sun Solaris, and Windows is required.
• Container – Apache HTTP Web Server.
• Object-oriented design methodologies (e.g., interfaces, abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism) with proven experience in software reusability, debugging etc
• Programming frameworks such as Symfony, Cake, Zend a plus.
• Javascript frameworks – jQuery, Prototype, Ext
• Integrations – LDAP, Soap, Rest, JSon
Experience –
• BTech or MTech in Computer Science or Engineering
• Minimum 3 years industry experience in software design and development, meeting aggressive deadlines, and performing software development duties
• Agile development practices specifically Scrum
• Strong, practical skills and experience with the software development life cycle and its corresponding processes and procedures.
• Exposure to any major configuration tool and change management concepts such as SubVersion.
• Strong oral and written communication, Analytical, Problem Solving Ability
• Ability to explain and document major application design decisions and their rationales to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Work effectively as part of the team with minimal supervision.
