JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an exceptionally intelligent, talented and enthusiastic Web Developer to provide support for the Publishing Team’s suite of content-rich online properties. Working closely with the Technical Manager and Web Producer to create, redesign, and maintain websites. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the major responsibilities of the Web Developer will be:

Joining a team of web developers to design, develop, and debug web applications Using creativity to innovate new products to enhance web user experience Keeping up with new internet standards and web technologies (AJAX, Ruby on Rails)

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Proficiency with both Client & Server-side programming including: PHP, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS
Experience with hand-coded HTML
Experience slicing and optimizing GIF and JPG images for the web
Experience working with MySQL
Experience with cross-platform, cross-browser development
Experience developing database-driven websites and web applications
Knowledge of web search engine mechanics
Exposure to object-oriented languages, such as Java or Microsoft .NET
Exposure to CodeIgniter MVC framework, or a similar framework (Cake, Zend)
