Job Responsibilities:
Create OS accounts
Perform installation, troubleshoot if required
Database Creation in existing instance
Configure OS level parameters
Create directory structure layout to place database files
Create database based on Design Document
Create necessary user accounts
Configure auxiliary services (Oracle Listener; SQL Server Agent; etc.)
Configure database backups and other standard maintenance jobs
Update Inventory
Database/Instance upgrade
Patch management
DB migration (hardware upgrade)
Database refreshes from production to dev/test
Maintain instance parameters and system settings
Third party vendor support / Co-ordination
Implement & Monitor Batch Jobs
Database account management
Escalation
Monitoring
Re-indexing
Update statistics
Tuning
Manage database space
Manage space on the host
Schedule, Monitor Database Backup & Restore
Disaster Recovery
Troubleshoot
Audit Trail
Database Performance Trend Analysis
